Let me introduce you to FunLifeShop.com owners:
Mark has been in the construction business for 45 years! He grew up in Colorado on the western slope. His father was a Dude ranch operator, a taxidermist, and a Guide & Outfitter. Mark helped in all of those businesses and grew up with a love of hunting, horses, fishing, basketball and the great outdoors! His father built several fun adventure vehicles from old airplane parts and snow machine and was a bit of an inventor! he built some snow cats, sleds for the horses to pull, and created a wagon trail with cook wagon and all to travel the Cheyenne Trail, stopping at historic spots and enjoying the horses, outdoors and beautiful scenery. Mark is an avid Bow Hunter, fly fisherman, and high-country hiker! He has been a Union carpenter and self-employed construction company owner with his wife Sharon for 30 years. He has lots of knowledge in the construction trades and quick shortcuts, know-how on building and the right tools to use.
Sharon grew up on a small farm in Oregon that mostly raised children! There were Shetland horses to halter break, cows to milk, chickens to feed and help slaughter, as well as a large garden and the food they produced to put up for the winter! There were many fun days looking back, of working together and playing together. Her father was very great at using what he had to build or create what he needed. He built pole vault pits, High jump practice pits, Motorcycle climbing hills, and a pond! The church would have a family Fun Fair on our little place that he built a dunking contraption with a target, we had horse rides, all kinds of booths set up for fun. He loved hunting and fishing and took his large family on trips to the Wallowa mountains with horses, to the beach to fish, and we didn’t have much money, so we enjoyed swimming at the city pool or going to the movies on the family nights when we could all get in for a dollar! Sharon spent every summer from when she was 2 until she was 18, working in the berry fields, harvesting cucumber, beans, peaches and when the seasons were over there were filbert (hazelnut) and walnuts to pick and plums to harvest and take them all to be dried. Then came selling the nuts and cracking many of them to earn a higher profit from the harvest. There was hay to buck, rocks to remove from fields on our small farm and always animals to feed, milk, slaughter and hunting or fishing to keep all the mouths fed!
We both Love the outdoors as do our children and grandchildren and hope to share some of the great experiences we have had in hopes that others can learn to love this beautiful world around us and all it has to offer!
We both have worked hard and played hard throughout our life and have gotten to travel some. We love camping in the high country or in a campground or even on our inground trampoline! We use float tubes and fish on Mount Hood in Oregon. We have a small lake near us, Henry Haag Lake, that we have visited to canoe, waterski, boat, float tube, swim or just picnic. We have traveled to the US Virgin Islands and snorkeled there as well as at St.Thomas, Water Island and St. John’s Island. We have been to 3 of the Hawaiian Islands and snorkel, hike, boogie board, site see and enjoy all of those adventures. Mark has just recently gotten into spearfishing and 2 of our children are becoming good free divers so they can also spear fish and have been able to master the art of staying down long enough to be successful at it.
We have lived in Colorado, Utah, Oregon, California and Alaska! We love each of those states and see the beauty and the not so beautiful in each of them. We love the beach and clamming, crabbing, wading and even going all in when the warmer tides come, at times! Seaside, Oregon has been the place most visited by us as we get older. We have spent many weekends at Lincoln city, Depoe Bay, Pacific City, Hug Point, Short Sands, Cannon Beach, Newport Beach, Astoria, and up into Long Beach Washington. There are so many beautiful vistas, trails, museums, animals, birds, and trees! As a small online business, we hope to share fun, helpful information on what, where, and how to make your life a little more Fun!
